Rabbit!

So I was watching TV the other day, and I saw a commercial for a Honda hybrid, and it had this really cute twee song playing in the background. So I did some digging and found that it was from this really unknown unsigned band (they’re not even on hypemachine) called “Rabbit!”, with a song called “Together”. It’s really adorable, it’s about working together, harmony, a bunch of people singing, it’s great.

I think they’re the best twee I’ve heard come out in a long time. The Boy Least Likely To overdoes it a little bit with the sweetness, but Rabbit! strikes the right mix between traditional pop and hypercute twee. They have one EP out, called The Rabbit! EP, and while some of their songs sound a little bit derivative, it’s because they aren’t really overdoing it with the instruments – they aren’t like The Brunettes or Architecture in Helsinki status with about five hundred million things in their songs. The EP is a little bit all over the place, one song is basically a Moldy Peaches-acoustic m/f duet, while some others (like the one below) are more upbeat sing-along songs kinda things.
